Philadelphia Eagles Looking To Move On From DeMarco Murray

The Philadelphia Eagles have apparently expressed interest in trading DeMarco Murray and will listen to any offers they come along their way according to NBC Sports.

Signing Murray and Ryan Mathews never made much sense, especially considering Darren Sproles was already on the roster. Now, the Eagles will look to recover from another on of Chip Kelly's blunders. Murray had the worst season of his career in his first year as an Eagle. It appeared as if he didn't fit the scheme and that he didn't necessarily want to be there. There is a similarity between Sam Bradford and Murray, as Bradford has seemed to imply that not only the Eagles, but the city of Philadelphia has soured on him. Bradford will obviously play wherever there is a starting job, but it was pretty clear towards the end of last season that Philadelphia was not his number 1 choice.

The Eagles would love to move Murray, as he currently is causing nightmarish cap problems, according to CBS Philly. Murray will cost the Eagles an average of $9 million a season, which is way too high for any running back. The Eagles have already probably tried to renegotiate his contract, but it is likely that Murray would not budge given how much he wanted a big money deal. The problem with trading Murray is his $7 million base salary, which will be a tough pill for plenty of cap strapped teams to swallow.

One may assume that the Dallas Cowboys would jump on this opportunity to get back their rushing champ, right? Definetly not, as the Eagles agreed to pay Murray a salary that the Cowboys would never dream of paying to a running back, so him being back in Dallas is about as likely as seeing a team take a chance on T.O, according to Philly.com. Murray could, however, land with the Oakland Raiders, New York Giants or San Francisco 49ers, as they would be the teams who have enough cap space to pay Murray's salary and still be active in free agency. It will be a miracle if the Eagles can trade Murray.
