Los Angeles Lakers Rumors 2012: Teams Looks At Ex-Laker Jannero Pargo As Possible Solution

As the Los Angeles Lakers continue their search for a suitable backup point guard, ESPN' s Marc Stein added another name to the rumor pot in a recent tweet.

Jannero Pargo started his NBA career with the Lakers back in the 2002-03 season. He was primarily used as a practice and bench player, seeing little to no time on the court during the regular season, before being waived early in the 2003-4 season.

Once his stint with the Lakers came to an end he bounced around the league joining the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, and Washington Wizards.

Though his primary role on teams was one of a reserve player, he has still turned out to be a decent player. His career numbers of 6.4 points, 2.0 assists and .350 from beyond the arc don't necessarily jump out at you, the Lakers continue to struggle in the absence of Steve Nash and at this point they are almost desperate to find a reasonable solution.

Nash has already missed a month's worth of games and though he's back to practicing in the gym, it'll be some time until he's physically conditioned to get back on the court for regular season games.

Nash's return is heavily anticipated right now within Laker nation as he's considered the floor general to operate under coach Mike D'Antoni's system. His return can very well determine whether D'Antoni needs to consider adjustments, which former Laker great Magic Johnson believes he should, and determine the fate of power forward Pau Gasol who's been on thin ice as he continues to struggle with the new offense.
