With total control in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich play their final game of 2012, when they travel to Augsburg for the German Cup last-16 encounter.
Bayern are nine points clear at the top of the table, from Bayer Leverkusen, with a further three points separating them from champions Borussia Dortmund.
While they will be happy with their situation in the Bundesliga, Bayern will also be keen to remain in the German Cup, with a difficult trip to Augsburg lying in wait.
Augsburg gave Bayern a real game in the Bundesliga a couple of weeks ago, which the German giants just about managed to win 2-0, and board member for sport Mathias Sammer admitted his side would take nothing for granted against their opponents.
"We have a great responsibility to win this match," said Sammer, who attended the prematch press conference for manager Jupp Heynckes, who was suffering from flu.
"The cup is a different competition, and Augsburg will push us to the limit. Augsburg have already suffered plenty of setbacks this season, but you never have the feeling they'll simply give up. They've been battling away the whole time, and never give the impression they're resigned to their fate.
"The team should be aware of the fact that they shouldn't toss away what they've worked really hard to achieve due to a certain carelessness."
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rumenigge agreed with Sammer, while saying a win over Augsburg would be a great way to round off the year. "We want to remain in the cup and do well, so that means a place in the quarterfinals is a must," he said. "And if we win, we can say once and for all we've come to the end of a good year."
Bayern have no major injury worries, with Javi Martinez returning to training Monday, after sitting out Sunday's session due to bruising near his eye.
For Augsburg, Kevin Vogt and goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif are doubtful, with former Arsenal keeper Alex Manninger set to take over from the latter if he is ruled out.
"It's (playing Bayern is) a fantastic way to round off the year," Augsburg manager Marcus Weinzieri said.
"Alex Manninger is a seasoned goalkeeper with plenty of international experience. I have great faith in him."
