After suffering a disappointing defeat to Lazio in the Serie A, Inter Milan will be keen to get back to winning ways when they take on Hellas Verona in the Coppa Italia at the San Siro Tuesday.
Inter failed to keep pace with league leaders Juventus, suffering a 1-0 loss to Lazio at the weekend, a result which meant Juve are now seven points clear of their nearest rivals in the table.
Andrea Stramaccioni said his side were unlucky to lose all three points at Lazio, thanks to a winner from Miroslav Klose, despite putting in a better performance than the winning side.
"(Lazio) played better in the first half," Stramaccioni said after the match. "They put us under pressure, even though we suffered little.
"During the second half, we gave a great performance. We deserved a goal, but this is football.
"Did we defend poorly for (Klose's) goal? We made a mistake in the first phase of play, but you just have to compliment him (for the finish)."
Meanwhile Inter defender Cristian Chivu said he has finally overcome his injury problems that has kept him out of for the entire season. "I feel good, the last four months were tough, but I'm better now," he told RaiSport. "I've tried not to get too worked up about these last four months and just get over the injury, and here I am, I'm over it.
"There were complications, which meant I needed a second operation, but now I feel fit enough to help out. We're a side that still needs to improve, but we've shown we can get big results, that's why we're second. We've made progress and will continue to do so.
"I'd have taken second in December, had you asked me back in August. Now we'll keep working."
The Romanian said he was looking forward to the last-16 game against Serie B side Hellas, with the Coppa Italia presenting Inter a chance to win another trophy. "(It) another trophy we can win, you need to win 5 matches and we want to do it," he added.
