As Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams continues to struggle through his recent offensive slump, Jason Kidd of the crosstown rival New York Knicks weighs in his thoughts about the real cause to his problems.

Recently Williams spoke out against coach Avery Johnson's offense saying that it was the cause for his decreased performance number, but Kidd, whose always played under Johnson, believes it's not the offense but Williams himself, according to the N.Y. Daily News.

 I don't think it has anything to do with the coach," Kidd said Thursday. "I think it's just a matter of getting comfortable making shots. Also, he has new teammates. He's got to get used to a new crew. It's always a growing period.

"He's a grownup. He'll figure it out. All things don't go well right away sometimes. He's just going through a struggle shooting the ball, but he's one of the best at what he does, so he'll work through it."

Williams has agreed for the most part, but still remains critical of Brooklyn's iso-heavy offense to not being suited to his playing style. His comments on Brooklyn's offense has racked up much criticism of the star and coach even as the organization continues to preach patience.
