Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Gunners Back In for Yann M'Vila? Mignolet Also Being Linked

With Arsenal being linked with several big names like David Villa, Edinson Cavani, Pepe Reina, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Fernando Llorente, an old favorite is back in the reports with Arsene Wenger reportedly considering making a bid for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.

The Gunners were long linked with the defensive midfielder, with Wenger deciding to pull out of the move due to the 22-year-old's disciplinary issues.

M'Vila himself has made it clear about his preference to move to Arsenal, and according to French paper Le 10 Sport, the Gunners are back in for the midfielder, along with Tottenham.

According to the report, both Arsenal and Spurs are looking at the option of a six-month loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

Arsenal need a solid defensive midfielder to screen their back-four, and there is no doubting the fact the M'Vila will be a good option, with the French international technically gifted along with being strong on the ball and in the tackle.

However, it will be interesting to see whether Wenger will go for a player he chose to ignore, despite him being available in the summer. Although, if the loan option is indeed on the table, the Arsenal manager might see no harm in giving the player a chance and seeing how he integrates with the rest of the squad.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are also being linked with a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Wenger has prioritized the signing of a goalkeeper in January, along with a striker, to give more competition to Wojciech Szczesny, who has a penchant to lose concentration a little too often, although he will definitely get better with experience.

Arsenal, who have also monitored Liverpool's Reina, Swansea City custodian Michel Vorm and Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, are now looking at the possibility of making a move for Mignolet, according to the Daily Mail.

Wenger said he would look to bring in some "exceptional" players in January, and with the names that are being linked, it promises to be a busy and exciting transfer window for the Gooners.
