Seattle Seahawks Predictions and Rumors: Russell Wilson Will Go Further in Playoffs than Luck and RGIII (Commentary)

The Seattle Seahawks are relevant in the NFL and they could thank their defense and Russell Wilson as the rookie quarterback has placed his team not only in the NFC playoff picture, but in position to be NFC West division winners. Let Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck take the Rookie of the Year because Wilson will take his team further into the playoffs.

I'm not going to lie, Russell Wilson wasn't my favorite quarterback as he had mediocre numbers despite beating teams like the New England Patriots and a questionable victory over the Green Bay Packers.

Let's get this out of the way, had Wilson not guided the Seahawks up field close enough to the end zone, that play would have never been possible. It's sad that the call was screwed up and that it became the reason for the NFL to bring back the regular referees, but in the end, the win went to the Seahawks.

RGIII and Luck have been everything their teams thought they would be. However, Wilson came into the NFL season as virtually an unknown player beating out the supposed starting quarterback, Matt Flynn. There was no hype surrounding the player and because of this he had to prove himself.

Wilson is one of the shortest quarterbacks in the NFL at 5' 11". He has handled adversity and played the Seahawks into the playoffs.

As of now, the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers are the two top seeds in the NFC, but when looking at the Seahawks' performance at the end of this season, Wilson has turned them into the most feared team in the league.

They have scored a total of 150 points in three games and without a doubt, present a more dangerous matchup than RGIII or Luck. Those teams are all about offense. The Redskins have the No. 1 running game in the NFL, while the Colts have the 7th best passing game in the league, but their defenses are ranked in the lower half of the league and not as good as the Seahawks'.

Wilson has the chance to surpass Peyton Manning's rookie record for most touchdowns in a season. Wilson has 25 an the record is 26.

Many quarterbacks can get to the red zone, but not many can get it into the end zone and this is something Wilson has done time and time again.

He is a winner and should give Luck and RGIII a run for their money in the MVP votes.

Do I think he'll win it? No since the other guys were higher draft picks and stole the preseason headlines. However, because the Seahawks are a complete team, I believe Wilson player further into the playoffs than RGIII or Luck.

Winning the Rookie of the Year award would be an excellent accolade, but the Lombardi Trophy is more important.
