The Washington Redskins face off against division rival Dallas Cowboys for the NFC East division. What more could you ask for in Week 17? Whether you're a fan of both teams or not, this should be the matchup of the night. Who do fans think will win?
Check out this snapshot of SportsCenter's Facebook poll.
Not that fans' predictions are Nostradamus-like by any means, but there's too much rolling in the Redskins' favor to not like them in this matchup.
The Best Running Game
The Redskins have always been able to score points, their weakness has always been their defense. How do they get all these points? By running the ball.
They have the No. 1 rushing game in the NFL averaging 162 yards per game. You can thank the talent of Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris, but the pistol setup is really what makes it all work. You never know who's going to get the ball.
The Cowboys might struggle on Sunday since their rushing defense is average at best. Ranked 17th in the league, opponents rush for 115 yards per game against the Cowboys.
RGIII
Simply mentioning his name should send goosebumps down the Cowboys' backs. There is no denying that this guy has the heart to win. His relaxed demeanor off the field translates into patience on the field as RGIII has only thrown five interceptions all season long meaning he doesn't commit mistakes.
He burned the Cowboys for 304 passing yards on Thanksgiving Day, which is way above his average. RGII typically passes for about 220 yards per game, but he definitely stepped things up for that game and the Redskins have yet to be slowed down.
Tony Romo
Whether Romo's regular season numbers are explosive or not, there's one stat that stands out; 1-5. Pretty sure Cowboy fans have woken up in the middle of the night thinking about this number as flashes of his previous Week 17 and playoff performances hammer their nightmares.
1-5 is Romo's record in these win or go home games. The Cowboys have received a pretty reliable quarterback these past few weeks to close out the season, but which Romo will show up for the finale?
You have to respect what Romo has totaled in his career, but that hasn't gotten Jerry Jones a championship ring and that, unfortunately, is what people always remember.
The Cowboys will have to stop using Romo as a scapegoat and play as a team. Their only hope of making the playoffs is clinching the division and to clinch the division they have to defeat the Redskins.
Kickoff is a little after 8:30 p.m. ET. It will be the last regular season game of the 2012 campaign.
No pressure Romo. No pressure.
