After the 7-3 win over Newcastle, Arsenal will want to continue their good attacking form against Southampton in their English Premier League game.
The Gunners are three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, who have played a game more. However, Arsene Wenger will know the importance of picking up a victory as they continue their push up the table.
Southampton, after throwing away a two-goal lead against Stoke at the weekend, are currently in 18th on 17 points from 20 matches.
In-form forward Theo Walcott said he was looking forward to playing against his old club Southampton. "Looking at our Premier League form recently, it has been very strong," Walcott told the club's official website. "We are looking to climb the table, take every game as it comes and we have another match on Tuesday.
"It will be a very tough occasion against Southampton, but it is one I am really looking forward to. I am probably going to wrap myself in bubble wrap for the next few days.
"It will be a very special moment for me and Alex (Oxlade-Chamberlain), and also for some of the fans to see us come back to the club."
Southampton manager Nigel Adkins expects Oxlade-Chamberlain, who like Walcott came from the Saints' youth system, to receive a warm welcome on his return to St Mary's.
"I think he will get a fantastic reception," Adkins said. "He is one of the players that came through out system. We are excited watching him play. We'd love him to still be at Southampton, but he is an Arsenal player now and an England international.
"I went to watch him against Reading the other night and he was exhilarating, with his acceleration to go away, a desire to get on the football. He is a joy to watch. I think everybody at Southampton is proud of what he is doing now.
"Everybody at the football club has had a role and a responsibility to play in Alex's development, but it is down to him as well. He is an exciting young talent."
Arsenal will be without Abou Diaby and Andre Santos, while Per Mertesacker is expected to return after missing the last game because of a virus.
Southampton skipper Adam Lallana has been ruled out through a knee injury, while Nathaniel Clyne is also a doubt.
