Mike Trout's Girlfriend Helps Catch 500 Pound Fish? (PHOTO)

While in Key West with family and girlfriend Jessica Tara Cox, Mike Trout, the 2012 Rookie of the Year, the group caught a mammoth 550-pound Goliath Grouper.

While in Key West, the Trouts and girlfriend Cox had an encounter with this massive species and didn't hesitate to trap it.

Just in case you don't know what a Goliath Grouper is, here's a quick video of one swallowing a shark. Okay, it's a baby shark, don't get too amazed.

It just goes in and swallows it up.

Now, whether or not his girlfriend was a part of the trapping, it seems like Trout likes having her around for his "manly" adventures as well. Here's a picture of the two together as they vacation in Key West.

Oh wait! Here's a better one of the couple when they were younger. Is that Trout with braces?

Okay, back to the fish story.

Trout seems to be doing his offseason conditioning while having fun with those close to him. Spring training is just around the corner and rather than get being stuck inside a batting cage or running around, he's chasing after fat fish. As long as he doesn't go overboard, then everything is good.

Trout will form part of one of the deadliest lineups in the majors as the Los Angeles Angels added outfielder Josh Hamilton to their middle of the lineup.

If all goes accordingly, the Angels should be playing deep into October and Trout will have to worry about removing a World Series ring from his finger when going on fishing excursions with his girlfriend and family.
