EPL Transfer News: Chelsea and Tottenham on High Alert as Shakhtar Prepare to Sell Willian

Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Willian is back on the radar of both Chelsea and Tottenham after it became apparent that the Ukraine side were willing to let go of their star player.

Willian has been clamouring for a move away from Shakhtar for quite a while now, with the Brazilian unhappy with the club rejecting the advances of Chelsea last year, when Andre Villas-Boas was in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Spurs also have a keen interest in the Brazilian, with the Portuguese manager at the helm at White Hart Lane, and Shakhtar have let their potential suitors know Willian will be available for £20 million ($32 million), according to the London Evening Standard.

Chelsea, despite Villas-Boas moving on, still retain an interest in Willian and are looking at the possibility of bringing the playmaker in at Stamford Bridge after losing out on Taison, who incidentally signed for Shakhtar.

The fact that Taison has been brought in by the Ukrainian giants, points to the fact that they are open to the sale of Willian, with Villas-Boas recently admitting he retains an interest in the 24-year-old.

The chances of a move increased further, with the news that Willian has failed to return to the Shakhtar training camp after the winter break, while manager Mircea Lucescu blasted the player for his indiscipline.

"I think it was unprofessional of him," Lucescu said.

"The president decided to do everything possible to sign a player of Willian's level, who already has experience of playing at a high standard.

"We look forward to having Willian again and I would like him to come back and behave as he did before -- as a professional and decent man.

"I would like him to solve his problems in a civilised manner here in Donetsk, and not by phone.

"I have great respect for Willian and I would not like him to be put under pressure by the people who surround him, and who perhaps advise him the wrong things.

"He should reject the advice of those who surround him - they are not doing very good things.

"With or without Willian, Shakhtar will move on."
