49ers vs. Falcons Score: Live Updates of NFC Championship Game

The San Francisco 49ers take on the Atlanta Falcons for the NFC Championship game. If you can't watch the game, then check out our live blog as we will bring you scoring updates with play-by-play.

The 49ers are in their second consecutive NFC Championship game and they hope this one has a different ending than their 2011 meeting with the New York Giants.

Colin Kaepernick has brought life to this team after taking over for Alex Smith in the second half of the season. Last week, he pulled an Adrian Peterson and ran all over the Green Bay Packers for an unprecedented 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

We don't know how Kaepernick will react in the game, but we know one thing, the Falcons have faltered in the playoffs before.

The Falcons are still trying to prove themselves. For some reason, every professional team from Atlanta is great in the regular season, but they go nowhere once in the playoffs. The Falcons are the prime example of regular season dominance.

Since Matt Ryan took over, the Falcons are 55-26 in the regular season. He has never finished the regular season with a losing record. Ryan's worse record as the quarterback for the Falcons came in 2009 when in 14 games they went 9-5.

The Falcons put the critics to rest at least for a week after winning their divisional game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Game will come from Atlanta in the afternoon. Don't miss the action and click here for the live scoring updates.
