The Carolina Hurricanes host the Boston Bruins at 7 p.m. ET for their fifth game of the shortened 2013 season. It will be a matchup of teams trying to continue their winning ways and we have a live stream available.
The guests, Bruins, defeated the New York Islanders 4-2 last Friday as they are on the front end of a back-to-back. The Bruins are sitting comfortably in first place of the Northeast division as they have started out the season without a loss. Overall, they are third in the Eastern Conference.
As for the Hurricanes, they got back to .500 as they defeated the Buffalo Sabers 3-1 on Friday as well. After starting the season 0-2, the Hurricanes have won their last two games. You can't fall too far behind in this shortened NHL season and, apparently, the Hurricanes took notice.
This will be Carolina's final game in the month of January. They aren't in action again until Friday, Feb. 1.
As for the Bruins, they have another game on Thursday, following their Tuesday matchup against the Buffalo Sabers.
The Bruins more superior defensive squad in comparison to Carolina's defense which has allowed a total of 13 goals, two more than their total scored during through the first four games of the season.
