After starting the month of January with a 2-10 record, the Los Angeles Lakers have appeared to turn things around for now as they are currently winners of three consecutive games.
In a month of struggle within the team, the Lakers seem to have put their differences behind them. However, when Mike D'Antoni decided to go with Earl Clark in the starting rotation instead of Pau Gasol, the Spainard made it clear that he wasn't too fond on the idea.
Though that seems like it was ages ago, for whatever reason Gasol is stil upset with being benched, especially when D'Antoni decided to go with Clark in the fourth quarter of last night's game against the New Orleans Hornets in which the Lakers managed to sneak away with a 111-106 win.
Gasol vented his displeasure with ESPNLosAngeles.com
After his seven points, seven assist, seven rebound effort, Gasol said, "I'm a competitor, I'm a guy that thinks I bring a lot to the table, and not being on the floor is something that I don't like, I don't appreciate."
It would appear that winning hasn't really cured the frustration from a difficult season. And whether Pau's benching is simply to match size with the other team, is to go with a hot hand, or is a precursor to any possible trade rumors involving Pau Gasol remains to be seen.
