Glen Davis Breaks Foot, the Orlando Magic Lose Forward for Rest of the Season?

Glen "Baby" Davis of the Orlando Magic is out indefinitely after breaking his foot in a 113-97 loss to the New York Knicks on Wednesday night. The injury took place early on in the game and now the Magic's roster becomes thinner.

Davis is a key player that remained in Orlando after Dwight Howard's move to the Los Angeles Lakers. According to the Orlando Sentinel, teammates were very supportive of their six-year veteran who has spent his last two seasons playing for the Magic.

"I just wish him the best," said point guard and co-captain Jameer Nelson. "I gave him a hug. There's really nothing you can say to a guy other than, 'I'm here for you,' or something like that. I just hope everything goes well for him."

Davis had just four minutes on the floor when the injury occurred. In a short amount of time, the 6' 9" forward-center from LSU, went 1-2 from the field and had already dished three assists. That was almost grounds for Kobe Bryant-like numbers. Well, the Bryant of late at least.

The injury occurred while running down the court as the Magic where making an offensive transition. Davis, who has a history of being clumsy, took a bad step on Iman Shumpert's foot and that was for Davis.

He will be evaluated in Central Florida as the Magic hope it's nothing serious and they could at least have their player back healthy.

In 2012, Davis was averaging 15.1 points and seven rebounds per game, his best career numbers in a single season. It's also the first time in his career that he's considered a starter in an NBA team. As a Boston Celtic, he was a specialist off the bench.

Now, if we go back to his Celtics days, Davis has a history of not being the most athletic or smartest looking player out on the court. Check out this video of a clumsy fastbreak Davis was unable to finish. Maybe he thought Lebron James was coming in for the swat.

Yeah, there was really nobody around him. Who knows what was going through Davis' mind.

Also, here's a clip from the NBA Finals. Now, we know emotions can get to a player, but Davis looked possed. Peep the drool coming from his mouth as he is excited to have scored and received a chance to go to the line.

Very beastly of him.

Okay, that's enough. Never good to kick a man when he's down.

The Magic will look to find a replacement for Davis now that they will be a player short. The Magic were never expected to compete, but one of their young players will get a chance to show off their talents as the team is currently going through a rebuilding phase.

The Magic are 14-31 this season 16.5 games out of first place in the Southeast Division and in 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
