Today, gun control is one of the topics more popular and controversial topics in America and, on Friday, the White House released a photo of President Barack Obama shooting a rifle. It's not like Obama is doing anything wrong, it was simply a way of letting people know that the president has experience with firearms.
Obama discussed issues of firearms and his experience with fire weapons in an interview with New Republic, the same people who brought us the story of Obama not allowing or thinking hard about allowing his child play in the NFL where he suggested a change of regulations in the game.
This image was taken in Camp David and the president addressed the actions saying, "We do skeet shooting all the time." The White House captioned the image Obama "shoots clay targets" while at Camp David.
With the recent outbreak of disastrous massacres around the country, Obama is attempting to tighten gun control in the nation. There are many conservatives who disagree with the new change stating that it is unconstitutional.
Obama, who acknowledges the roots of hunting, recently stated that he has "profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations." But he also noted that “the reality of guns in urban areas are very different from the reality of guns in rural areas,” where he said children often grow up hunting with their families. “You can see why you’d be pretty protective of that. So it’s trying to bridge those gaps that I think is going to be part of the biggest task over the next several months.”
Though Obama might be caught up with these issues, stay tuned as at some point, he will be faced with the question. Like many of our previous presidents, Obama is very knowledgeable in sports and though hesitant to make picks in 2012 (due to his chances of losing votes during the election) experess Obama to eventually share his thoughts on the matter.
