According to legend, the Illuminati are a tiny, super-secret society of influential individuals who've shaped the course of world events. As far as the internet is concerned, the star flashed an unmistakable symbol during her sexy half-time show.

Beyonce's illuminati sign was a clear indicator to some of her involvement as it makes sense for them to use one of the world's most high-profile performers at one of the world's most high-profile events to help spread their message, but at the same time conceal their existence and massive international operations.

Still not all those in the social media world bought into the that theory, as some pointed out a potential hole in it.

Real fans of Beyonce believe her gesture was more likely meant to mean something else, something with a little more background information. It's public knowledge that Beyonce is married to rapper Jay-Z, mogul and head of Roc-A-Fella records.

Some viewers put speculation to the side and justified Beyonce's gestures as a sign of support to her husband, who also uses the diamond as a symbol.

Despite rumors of Illuminati symbols and her performance having something to do with the Superdome lights going out early in the third quarter, Beyoncé's performance was well-received by critics and music writers all around.
