England will gauge their chances for the 2014 World Cup, when they host Brazil at Wembley to kickoff the F.A.'s 150th anniversary celebrations.
Steven Gerrard will lead out an England team looking for some relevance in the international game, and they will have the likes of Neymar, Ronaldinho and Oscar to stop.
"The F.A. have produced some fantastic fixtures for us this year and they are ones that whet the appetite as a player," said Gerrard, who is set to win his 101st cap for England.
"Brazil are fantastic opposition and it doesn't matter that it is a friendly because we want to win and go into the qualifiers in March in fine form."
The game will also be interesting because Ashley Cole will earn his 100th cap of his illustrious England career, something that Gerrard believes he thoroughly deserves.
"I think if the fans take a moment and have a think of what Ashley Cole has given in an England shirt over the last 10 or 12 years, it has been phenomenal," Gerrard added.
"He deserves to be a 100-cap player, there's no doubt about it. I think there have been years over the last 12 when Ashley Cole has been the best left-back in the world.
"He's probably been the most consistent player I've played with during my time with England. I think it's very important the Wembley crowd respect what Ashley has done for England.
"It's going to be Ashley's night - if he's picked to play - and the players are certainly going to show him a hell of a lot of support. Let's hope the fans do as well."
