Nigeria has reason to celebrate after their national team will go on to the African Cup final after defeating Mali 4-1 in Wedneday's semifinals match. They will now have the chance to capture their first title since winning it back in 1994, almost 20 years ago.
Here's how the action went down as Nigeria completely dominated this matchup right from the start.
In minute 25 of the action, Nigeria was already celebrating a lead. Elderson Echiejile took it open himself to open up the scoring with a header giving the Nigerians a 1-0 lead.
Five minutes later, Brown Ideye added a score and right before the first half finished, Emmanuel Emenike took advantage of a free kick for the third score of the game.
By this point, Nigeria could smell victory. They took a 3-0 lead at the half and they added one more point before this one wrapped up.
15 minutes into the second half, at the 60th minute, Ahmed Musa added Nigeria's fourth and final goal of the match. Though Mali saw itself down 4-0, they didn't give up as Cheick Diarra added their only goal of the game right before the conclusion of the match at minute 75.
Now, Nigeria makes its first appearance in the Africa Cup since 2000 and they have a chance to become champions.
They await the conclusion of Ghana versus Burkina Faso.
