Kevin Garnett Ends Trade Rumors With The Nuggets, Has No Interest In Playing In Denver

Boston Celtic center Kevin Garnett's name has been thrown in a series of trade rumors, with the latest coming from the Denver Post reporting that the Nuggets have contacted the Celtics inquiring about the availability of Garnett.

However, Garnett has no interest in landing in Denver and with his no-trade clause still active in his contract, a trade is unlikely to happen.

Garnett's views of playing in Denver are very simple, in the state of Colorado Garnett is unlikely to receive the same type of exposure like say if he were to play in New York, Miami or Los Angeles. The Nuggets as a team also don't bold as much of an attraction to Garnett as they are currently in in the middle of the standings in the Western Conference.

The Nuggets would have to make a move similar to what Boston did in adding Ray Allen to Paul Pierce, which convinced Garnett to sign on for a trade to Boston in 2007.

According to CBSSpors.com, Garnett is only interested in a trade to either of L.A.'s teams, and only if Paul Pierce is also traded, whether in that deal or another one to another team. (Garnett owns a house in Malibu.) With his no-trade clause, that pretty much means that the only reasonable option for a trade is the Clippers, and that deal has been vehemently shot down by both teams.

With the February trade deadline approaching, Garnett spoke on the trade rumors and stated that if it were up to him he'd ultimately prefer to retire a Celtic, saying that he "bleeds green."

"I bleed green, I die green, that's what it is ... But it is a business, and when that crosses the paths, I deal with it. Trades are part of this league."
