Chelsea Transfer Rumours: Fellaini Wants Stamford Bridge Move; Benitez to Be Replaced by Martinez?

Marouane Fellaini has made a come-and-get-me plea to Chelsea, while Rafa Benitez is on the brink of getting fired, with his future at Stamford Bridge hinging on the result against Wigan.

Fellaini has been linked with a Chelsea move for quite a while now, with the Belgian expected to be added to the ever-growing list of midfielder at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were thought to have made a summer bid for the Everton midfielder, but nothing progressed, with the Toffees reluctant to sell.

However, the fact that Fellaini has a reported £22 million ($35 million) clause in his contract, has attracted the attention of several other clubs in the Premier League.

Fellaini, whose Everton side will take on Manchester United Sunday, said he was aware of Chelsea's interest in him, and it was up to the London club to make a move.

"If Chelsea want to sign me, then they need to come forward with a bid for me," Fellaini told The Sun. "I have heard about Chelsea's interest but I've honestly not spoken to them.

"Every season I've been here, top clubs have been asking about me but, for now, I'm happy at Everton."

Everton are still in contention for a Champions League place, and Fellaini's future might be decided on where they finish. "It might feel better to play Champions League football for Everton than Chelsea, as they gave me my debut in England," he added.

Meanwhile, the future of Benitez is up in the air, and the former Liverpool manager, who has felt the wrath of the Chelsea faithful ever since taking over from Roberto Di Matteo, could be given his marching orders if the Blues lose to Wigan in their Premier League clash Saturday.

"(Chelsea owner) Roman (Abramovich) is loyal to Benitez and desperately wants him to stay in charge until the end of the season," a source told The Sun.

"But that loyalty will be tested to the limit if Rafa fails again.

"The be-all and end-all at this club has always been that we at least finish in the top four -- and current results mean that could now be in serious doubt.

"And, let's be honest, he has sacked managers for far less."

Benitez, however, said he has no worries over his job, even though he admitted he hadn't talked to Abramovich for a while.

"I last spoke to him after the Arsenal game, 20 days ago," Benitez told reporters. "We were doing really well and he was really happy.

"Since then, I've had conversations with people close to him but not directly. Do you know what he thinks? If you don't know, you can't say this or that will happen. Nobody knows.

"We have been talking with the people here. I was talking with him. We were talking about football. In terms of football everything is fine."

Roberto Martinez has emerged as a shock candidate to replace Benitez, if his fellow compatriot was to be let go by Abramovich. Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte and David Moyes have also been linked with the manager's position.
