The city of Boston and the Northeast part of the United States was the hardest hit by winter storm Nemo and the Boston Bruins game on Saturday was delayed in response to it due to emergency conditions.
According to ESPNBoston.com, the NHL decided to postpone the game between the Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lighting on Saturday, since the storm was expected to cripple the city. The league released a statement on Saturday and said that a makeup date had not yet been scheduled, since off-days are scarce in the lockout-shortened schedule.
A statement released by the league said "travel conditions remain too hazardous for fans, security personnel and TD Garden staff to get to the arena."

The game was set to start at 1 p.m. ET but was delayed to 7 p.m. as the storm hit. During the afternoon on Saturday the league decided to postpone the game. The Bruins scheduled to play at Buffalo on Sunday, while the Lightning head to New York for a game Sunday night against the Rangers.
The storm has made many teams and sporting events change plans, including the Knicks, who were stranded in Minnesota due to the winter storm weather. New York's airports reopened on Saturday but many flights were delayed.
