There's something about a child following in their parents footsteps that really warms the heart, but when you're talking about sports, things sometimes get a little hectic.
Well apparently former NBA point guard Mike Bibby knows first-hand how hectic things can get when taking the backseat role is not an option.
Bibby, who is currently not active in the league today, has been spending much of his newfound free time watching his son Michael partake in the family business. The younger Bibby is a freshmen at Mike Bibby's alma matter, Shadow Mountain in Phoenix, where he plays ball.
Well according to a report from a Phoenix television station, Last Friday night Bibby got a little bit too carried away with the excitement of the game. Aparrantly he was arguing with the refs and it was so much of a distraction that he was later forced to leave the game with a police escort.
"I think the ref had a little ego problem before the game started," Bibby explained. "I kind of got on him early in the game and he told the police to watch me, or whatever.
"I was just sitting there and I told him, 'that was a bad angle, number 23 wasn't in the play, ref' and he just pointed to the police and the police came and got me."
Bibby also explained that he is typically vocal at the games, without any use of profanity, which is normal for him, but that simply wasn't the case for him Friday night.
"It was like he wanted to kick me out, I don't know why," he said. "I wasn't going to argue with the police, but apparently that's all it took."
