Will Ferrell has picked up a second job as a security guard. Or least he did in Tuesday night's Los Angeles Lakers game. While the actual game was anything but great with star Kobe Bryant only scoring four points, fans at least got a good show with Ferrell present. The team has been in need of some light-hearted fun, and Ferrell delivered. After two weeks without a home game, the Lakers returned to the Staples Center to see that security had become a bit, well, different.
Working as security on the court was actor Will Ferrell. Donning the famous red blazer during the second half, Ferrell let his presence be known. Ferrell approached Laker/Suns great Shaquille O' Neal ,who was seated courtside during the game, and promptly had him ejected. Sporting a thick Ron Burgundy mustache, Ferrell escorted Shaq out of the game, getting cheers and laughs from the fans.
This is not the first time Ferrell has pulled a comedy stunt at a basketball game. Late last season, he announced the starting lineup for the Chicago Bulls during the start of a game and revealed embarrassing facts about each of the players, including "Carlos 'He Still Lives With His Mother' Boozer."
Ferrell is an Orange County native. He is a frequent staple to appear courtside at the Lakers' games. He certainly brought life to a dull basketball game. No word if this was some sort of method acting for Ferrell. The security guard character appears nowhere on his IMDB page, but one never knows.
