While the majority of the eyes will be on the mouth-watering clash between Real Madrid and Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Dortmund will look to get one over each other in Wednesday's other Champions League last 16 first leg game.

Dortmund were one of the most impressive side in the group stages, taking first place in the group of death which included Real Madrid, Ajax and Manchester City.

Some have tipped the German champions to go all the way this year with their fast-paced style really catching the eye.

"Tomorrow (Wednesday) we will see an interesting and intense game, because both teams will need to give their best performance or even surpass that level," Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp said. "And, of course, we will do our best -- we came here to provide uncomfortable opposition."

Dortmund have been disappointing in the Bundesliga this season though, and currently lie a huge 15 points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Klopp, however, does not believe his side's poor domestic form will spill over to Europe.

"Defeat against Hamburg (4-1 Saturday) did not cause us any harm," Klopp added. "Our goals are high in the Champions League. This is a first round of 16 tie for all of us and I do not need to motivate the players in any special way because there are no weak opponents among the 16 sides in the knockout stage. If we show our best football, everything will be alright."

Shakhtar, who finished second in their group which consigned Chelsea to the Europa League, are a little disadvantaged by the fact that they haven't played a single minute of competitive action since the Champions League group stages, but manager Mircea Lucescu is confident his side can come to the party when needed.

"We have got used to playing European games in February against teams who are in better shape than us because they have been playing competitive games in the winter while we haven't," Lucescu said. "We plan our preparations to compensate for that.

"Of course, you cannot compare friendly games in the United Arab Emirates and Spain with Bundesliga matches, but we have tried to reach the same fitness level as Dortmund. Wednesday's game will show how well we have managed."

Ilsinho is ruled out with a meniscus injury, while Thomas Hubschman is a doubt. Dortmund will have to do without midfielder Ilkay Gundogan (thigh, toe), Patrick Owomeyola (bruised bone) and Kevin Grosskreutez (flu). Marcel Schmelzer faces a late fitness test, but Neven Subotic has been cleared to play after recovering from a calf injury.
