Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps has been on the market since breaking up with his model girlfriend last year and he has replaced her with a new squeeze: bikini model and waitress Sarah Herndon.
According to the Baltimore Sun, the 22-year-old and Phelps first met while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico just before Christmas, after the swimmer broke up with his model girlfriend Megan Rossee. Herndon spoke with the Baltimore Sun and said that Phelps charmed her with his sense of humor while on vacation.
The two spent an evening in Baltimore later on and had a date of sushi and viewing of the film "Zero Dark Thirty". The two also spent time in the Bahamas when Phelps took her away for a five-day vacation of swimming and snorkeling.
The 22-year-old spoke about Phelps to the Sun, saying: "Michael's a good kisser. He's very cuddly and kissy, which is cute. He's charming and a gentleman. He's got like a confident side to him to that makes you want more. But he's very sweet at the same time. Michael's body is obviously great. I mean, he's an athlete. He's got a great sculpted body. He's obviously been a swimmer, like, forever."
The two met in Mexico when she was out clubbing with her three sisters and were picked by a worker to sit at his table. Herndon split with her boyfriend of 15 months right before the vacation, right around the same time Phelps split with his flame Rossee.
"There's not really much bad you can say about it, she said. "What happens between me and Michael intimately is our business. And not something I care to talk about with anyone else besides us. I did stay in his room, but I'm not going to say that he's a good lover or anything. I would never talk about something like that."
TMZ originally reported the news about Phelps and his previous girlfriend breaking up. According to TMZ.com, Phelps ended the relationship because the romance was "not going anywhere" and the website reported that sources said: "Phelps felt the relationship wasn't going anywhere, so he decided to end it so he could pursue other options."
Their relationship started in March, but things cooled off, resulting in the breakup. Following the London Olympics, Phelps said he would retire from swimming. He appeared in the Golf Channel's Haney Project. Phelps is known as an avid golfer and will work with Haney on his game during the show.
Phelps had a phenomenal 2012, even though the London Olympics did not get off to the best start for him. He opened with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter individual medley, losing to teammate Ryan Lochte, but rebounded from that performance to beat him in the 200 individual medley and winning the 100 butterfly as his last race of the games.
During the Games he won six medals, including four gold and two silvers, for swimming events to become one of the most decorated athletes of all-time. In December of 2012 he was named the Associated Press male athlete of the year, beating out superstars like LeBron James and Usain Bolt.
