The New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays square off in Spring Training and you can check out the live stream provided by MLB.tv. The action starts at 1 p.m. ET and you can watch it from here.
Though it's only training camp, it'll be a brief opportunity for fans to check out what the Blue Jays have in store in their farm system and more importantly in their everyday lineup. It's been publicized greatly how many changes the Blue Jays made during the winter. They added a controversial free agent in Melky Cabrera right after trading for almost the entire Miami Marlin's roster.
Without a doubt, the Blue Jays have to win or else their front office will have a lot of questions to answer. It's almost like the Blue Jays can't fail. They have Jose Reyes, Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and the speedy Emilio Bonifacio on offense. They added Josh Johnson, Mark Buerhle and the 2012 N.L. Cy Young Award winner, R.A. Dickey.
They look like they're ready to compete and make the A.L. East the most competitive division in baseball.
As for the Yankees, they didn't have a typical winter. The Steinbrenners decided they would like to save money and avoid spending so much on taxes. It will be interesting to see how their veterans bounce back. Youth is almost not found in this lineup. Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera are returning from injuries while they'll depend on the same pitching rotation to get the job done for them.
The Yankees sought out veteran help at third base from Kevin Youkilis as their controversial third baseman Alex Rodriguez is currently recovering from hip injury The Yankees will have to give guys like Eduardo Nunez more action during the season as they are short on starters.
Their outfield will feature a small change as Curtis Granderson will play in left field and Brett Gardner will take over the center field duties.
