Chelsea will look to put their English Premier League disappointment behind them when they travel to the Riverside to take on a dangerous Middlesbrough side in the F.A. Cup fifth round.
Benitez reportedly had a few strong words with his players after their poor showing against Manchester City at the weekend, but is confident his side can bounce back against Boro.
"We are training really well and the atmosphere is good inside," Benitez said. "My relationship with the players is fantastic. I have a good group who are working hard and are keen to learn, they were disappointed like me after the defeat.
"The competition for the top four will go until the end of the season, that was my opinion before and it still is now. It's really important for us, but a top side has to try and win every competition and every game.
"We will pick the best players for every game in our consideration because we know how the players train and how they are."
Benitez wants his side to cut out the silly mistakes which have cost them a lot of grief this season.
"We are playing with a lot of intensity but I felt we made mistakes for different reasons," he added.
"We went to the Etihad and had a penalty and two counter-attacks when we could score and maybe be ahead against a very good team, so you have to be disappointed, and we didn't play at the level we could play and that is my concern. In terms of other results, we had games we could easily win."
The Chelsea manager, whose side could face Manchester united if they beat Boro, is not expecting an easy outing against the Championship side, who have been struggling for results recently.
"They were doing really well but recently they have had a few problems," Benitez said. "They have a good idea of how to play and they have a good manager.
"We have watched clips of them, they are a team that will give everything in the FA Cup and it will be a tough game as always."
Benitez will be without Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill, while Justin Hoyte and Stuart Parnaby have been ruled out for Boro.
