The last time these two teams met, baseball fans were treated to intense baseball games. The Baltimore Orioles travel to Tampa Bay to face the New York Yankees at 1 p.m. ET. Once again, for the Yankees, this is a continuing audition as they continue seeking for an outfielder capable of filling in Curtis Granderson's spot in left field. Matt Diaz had a chance to play yesterday going 1-2 with a base hit as he looks to be one of the guys competing for a spot.
Alfonso Soriano rumors ahve colled off as of late. The Yankees look to possess enough talent to hold off the void left by Granderson as he is to recover from a left forearm injury suffered against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.
On the mound for the 1-3 Yankees will be prospect Nik Turley from Illinois. He's turning 24 at the end of the season. So far in Spring Training, Turley has pitched a scoreless inning of one-run ball with a strikeout.
For the Orioles, it has been a fun Spring Training thus far. They are 3-0 and looking to stay relevant in baseball after winning an A.L. Wild Card spot and then defeated the Texas Rangers in the sudden death Wild Card Game. They took the Yankees all the way to a Game 5 and almost walked out with the victory with a chance to fight for the A.L. pennant.
On the mound for the Orioles will be Jake Arrieta, who struggled to the max in 2012. He posted a 3-9 record with a 6.20 ERA in 18 starts. He will be looking to better his game as the Orioles could use some starting pitching in the upcoming year.
The action starts at 1:05 p.m. ET. Check out MLB.TV's live stream of this game. Click here to watch the Orioles vs. Yankees online.
