World Baseball Classic 2013 Schedule: Opener sees Chinese Taipei vs. Australia

The World Baseball Classic kicks off on Saturday and Friday depending on where in the world you live. The action begins in Taiwan at 6:30 Local Time. In the U.S. you can start watching the game at 11:30 p.m. ET. Check out future matchups for both clubs as the WBC takes off this weekend.

Taipei plays Australia followed by matchup against the Netherlands. It will be wise for Chinese Taipei to get a quick start in the tournament if it wants to win. They face the 20099 runner-ups, Korea, in the last game of the round robin. Korea presents a talented roster thought not possessing an MLB player.

As for Australia, their lineup features a young group of guys.  Corey Adamson just turned 21 and David Kandilas is 23. Click here to check out the entire Australian roster. 

Both of these countries, though facing each other, having a similar task: beating Japan. They'll have to escape this round in order to have the opportunity, but they will try to change the trend of the last two WBC's where the Japanese were crowned champions.

Game 4: Korea vs. Australia- Mar. 4 6:30 p.m. Local Time, 5:30 a.m. ET

Game 5: Australia vs. Netherlands- Mar. 5 12:30 p.m. Local Time/11:30 p.m. ET

Game 6: Chinese Taipei- Mar. 5 7:30 p.m. local time /6:30 a.m. ET
