NBA News And Rumors: Will Andrew Bynum Ever Make His Sixers Debut?

Mar 01, 2013 03:20 PM EST

Philadelphia 76ers' center Andrew Bynum has yet to step on the court this season and new reports indicate that he may not play at all this season.

According to Bynum he says he's experiencing some swelling in his right knee after last week's 5-on-5 scrimmage.

Because of his concern for his knee, Bynum says he's not sure the likelihood he'll return this season.

Now it's getting really late," he said. "I don't know."

As for playing to get his next contract, Bynum said he doesn't feel the need to rush anything. The Sixers have 26 games to go and Bynum, an unrestricted free agent, isn't worried about his next deal.

"Being healthy is more important than everything else," Bynum said. "If I am healthy, I'll get a deal. I have to be able to play and I need to get to the point where I'm healthy to play."

Just a few weeks ago Bynum vowed that he'd return to the NBA sometime this season.

"I don't think anyone's more upset than myself. I have the most to lose by not playing and I want to get back. And I could really care less. People are going to support me when I'm doing well and they're going to talk when I'm doing poor and not playing," Bynum said.
