The World Baseball Classic is in action as China Taipei is facing Australia in the first game of the 2013 tournament. Check out the live stream provided at the end of the article.
Chinese Taipei is quickly out to a 1-0 as they are in the bottom of the third inning. Cheng-Min Peng got the action started with a single on a ground ball to right fielder Chris Snelling. Dai-Kang Yang came around to score and Chinese Taipei took the early lead and they are holding on to it.
Saying that Taipei is the home team isn't a mystery. They are currently threating in the bottom of the third and fans have an Atlanta Braves-like chop chant going.
Australian Chris Oxpering has been roughed up a bit. He's thrown close to 40 pitches so far in the game and Chinese Taipei has runners on first and second with one out.
It will be interesting to see if he could squeeze out of this jam and continue pitching in the game. Chinese Taipei's starting pitcher is Chien-Ming Wang. He's been in complete control allowing just two hits over his first three innings pitched. He has no walks and a strike out in this game so far.
