Ichiro Suzuki is spending his first spring training with the Yankees in Florida and so far things have gotten off to a good start, but on Saturday the star dealt with a new issue: a car crash.
According to NESN.com, Suzuki was involved in a three-car crash around 4 pm in the afternoon. He was able to walk way from the scene unhurt, according to the NY Post.
Suzuki was driving along the highway in Tamp Bay when his car struck another vehicle, which made a left turn right in front of Ichiro's Range Rover. The other car was cited for the crash and Ichiro's car was totaled in the accident.
Suzuki was not expected to be in the lineup for the Yankees-Red Sox game on Sunday after playing against the Tigers the previous day. According to the report, Ichiro is planning to work out normally on Sunday.
Ichiro signed a two-year contract with the Yankees after spending his entire career with the Seattle Mariners.
