Former Major League pitcher Dwight Gooden has had legal and drug troubles all throughout his career and that has continued even after his playing days are over, as he has been accused of making serious threats against his estranged wife.
According to TMZ.com, the former Yankees and Mets pitching star has received a temporary restraining order from his estranged wife Monique after Gooden made "terroristic threats," specifically claiming he said, "All bets are off and I will hurt you and your family. You'll see, just wait."
The report from TMZ says that Monique Gooden called the Bergen County Police Department in New Jersey on March 1after Gooden made the threats and that a family court judge granted the restraining order after police arrived. The pitcher is currently living in the same house as his wife as they move their way through divorce proceedings.
According to TMZ, Gooden was forced to take some belongings and leave the home. He was not arrested or taken into custody by police at the time. The court order against Gooden keeps him away from visiting his two children until a court hearing on March 11 and the judge could turn the temporary order into a permanent restraining order.
Gooden still must make car and child support payments for his wide and the incident stems back to when Monique Gooden filed for divorce from the pitcher in November 2012. Gooden has had issues with the law over the years and he was arrested in 2005 after allegedly striking his wife during an argument.
