Chicago Blackhawks Keeps Record Streak Alive Against Colorado As Miami Heat Keep Winning In NBA, Who Will Be The First Team To Lose?

The Chicago Blackhawks are off to an amazing start to the lockout-shortened season, still not losing in regulation after winning their 11th straight game on Wednesday night.

According to the Associated Press, the Blackhawks rallied from behind to defeat the Colorado Avalanche at home at the United Center and won their second game in two nights. Daniel Carcillo scored the game-winner with less than one minute in the game to go up 3-2, giving the team its 11th straight victory and improving their record to 21-0-3 on the season, which is the best start in NHL history.

"Being down, resiliency, perseverance, whatever you want to call it, there's a belief in this locker room that whatever position we're in, we can come back," Carcillo said. "That's one of our biggest assets."

Jonathan Toews and Andrew Shaw added goals as well and now the Blackhawks have received at least one point in their first 24 games, an NHL record. The team has a longer streak dating back to last season, getting a point in 30 straight games.

The team broke their previous franchise record with a win over Minnesota 5-3 on Tuesday night. The team now has the second-longest overall points streak in NHL history behind the 35 that the Flyers did in 1980.

The Miami Heat are on a 16 game winning streak and the two teams have been compared over the run. NBA star Lebron James Tweeted about the streak, writing online: "Hey Chicago Blackhawks, u guys are AWESOME!! #streaking."

"I want to be more than an enforcer on this team," Carcillo said. "Just to be able to step in with some key guys going down and helping wherever I can, in this particular situation scoring a game winner, that's what we play for."

Colorado dropped their sixth game out of the past seven and have been struggling all year.

"It's just frustrating right now," Avalanche coach Joe Sacco said. "We had some things go well, and to come up again without any points, it's disappointing."

Ray Emery has been excellent in goal and is now 10-0 on the year after making 20 saves. He and Corey Crawford have combined for the amazing run in net. The Blackhawks rallied from behind for the win and they are now closing in on the longest win streak for any sport in a shortened season, as they are now just one game behind the 1995 Red Sox.
