Basketball great Michael Jordan appears ready for marriage as he and his fiancée  applied for a marriage license Thursday morning at the main Palm Beach County courthouse.

Jordan got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, in December 2011.

They have until May 9 to use their marriage license. According to TMZ, Jordan and Prieto will get married on April 27. That fits within the 60-day window they'll have after their marriage license is granted.

It will be the second marriage for Jordan, he married It will be the second marriage for No. 23. He married Juanita Vanoy in September 1989, and they divorced in 2006. They have two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.

Now this may be just a coincidence but Jordan's marriage announcement came the same day as LeBron James' save the date card for his September wedding card went public. It's another overlapping marriage milestone for the players already linked by their basketball greatness and association with Nike.

Also coincidental is that both stars got engaged within days of each other. James proposed to his girlfriend, Savannah Brinson, just after midnight on New Year's 2012. Jordan's publicist announced his engagement to his girlfriend of three years, Cuban model Prieto, just three days before.
