Numerous teams entering the free agency period are in need of new quarterbacks. Clubs like Jacksonville, Cleveland and the New York Jets are paying close attention to the quarterbacks in the draft and free agent backups. Matt Moore, the backup quarterback in Miami, was falling on team's radars as a reliable quarterback that when placed in the right situation, could really thrive. The Dolphins have decided that Moore was too good to let go and have re-signed him to a new contract.

28-year old Moore was the Dolphins' starting quarterback in 2011. He had a solid performance on the season, starting 12 games and finishing with a 6-6 record. He completed 60 percent of his passes for 2,497 yards and 16 touchdowns. He threw nine touchdowns and was sacked 36 times. It was expected that Moore would continue to be the starter until the team drafted rookie Ryan Tannehill No. 8 overall in 2012.

Moore, Tannehill and David Garrard were all in a quarterback competition to prior to the start of 2012, with Tannehill eventually winning the battle. He completed 58 percent of his passes for 3,294 yards and 12 touchdowns, but he also threw 13 interceptions.

With Moore officially off the market, the pool of quarterbacks becomes much smaller, making the odds that teams turn to Tim Tebow or New England Patriots backup Ryan Mallet more likely. The Jacksonville Jaguars have been in the hunt for a new quarterback to give Blaine Gabbert some competition. With Moore re-signing, Tebow could now be lock to get picked up by the Jaguars in free agency. Jacksonville team owners have said they cannot begin to consider Tebow until he is officially released from the Jets.
