World Baseball Classic 2013 Schedule: USA, Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, Canada & Italy in Action Friday

Mar 08, 2013 11:55 AM EST

As the World Baseball Classic rolls on, there's plenty of action for fans to follow as six teams are in action once again on Friday. You can catch a full day of baseball as the USA vs. Mexico highlight the day's matchups. You can also catch Spain vs. Puerto Rico and Canada & Italy. When and where? We got you covered.

Canada vs. Italy
First on the list of games is Canada and Italy. Time: 2:00 p.m. ETWhere to Watch: MLB Network

For Italy, it's their second game of the tournament, while Canada will play in it's first round robin game at the 2013 WBC.

Italy is pretty much on the clouds right now. They defeated Mexico 6-5 on Thursday after late game heroics and messy Mexican defense. Anthony Rizzo did his part putting the ball in play to drive in the runner from third and it eventually turned into a two-run double as Edgar Gonzalez couldn't retrieve the fly ball.

If Italy's games are going to be this consistently dramatic, then fans are in for a treat. Win today against Canada and Italy pretty much punches their tickets in to the second round.

Spain vs. Puerto Rico
There won't be irony in this game as the home team is actually the home team.
TIME: 5:30 p.m. ET WHERE TO WATCH: MLB Network

It will be both squad's first game in the 2013 Wold Baseball Classic. In case you're wondering who's on the Spanish roster, don't waste your time, you probably won't recognize half of the guys playing for the team.

Only pitcher Rhiner Cruz has major league experience and it's with the Houston Astros. Engel Beltre, a centerfielder, is a prospect out of the Texas Rangers' farm system.

Puerto Rico will have stars like Carlos Beltran, Angel Paga, Giovanni Soto and Yadier Molina highlighting their roster.

USA vs. Mexico
On to the main event. Mexico takes on USA in a must win situation following a heartbreaking loss to the Italians on Thursday. For the U.S., it's all about winning the tournament. You can tell they want it badly as they asked for Joe Torre to manage the team and he was one of the more successful managers in the late 90's as he managed the New York Yankees.

TIME: 9 p.m. ET WHERE TO WATCH: MLB Network.

R.A. Dickey will get the ball for Team USA and Yovani Gallardo will take the hill for the Mexicans.
