It will powerhouse of the U.S. in action against Mexico, who is heartbroken after a loss to Italy on Thursday. If the U.S. wins, they can put away Mexico's hopes of entering the second phase of the tournament.

For the U.S., they will rely on Joe Torre to carry the heavy talented ball club into the second round and beyond. The U.S. will not settle, which explains why they brought Torre, who won four World Series with the New York Yankees in 1996, 1998-2000, out of retirement.

In 2009, in the last World Baseball Classic, Davey Johnson couldn't win it with guys like Derek Jeter, Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis and Curtis Granderson. This year, Team USA features different players and many analysts believe that his core of guys like Joe Mauer, Brandon Phillips, David Wright and Jimmy Rollins are the right guys for the job.

Their aces will be Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey, who is now playing for the Toronto Blue Jays and Gio Gonzalez of the Washington Nationals, who proved that a change of scenery last year was necessary.

Though international competition is a completely different beast than MLB talent, the U.S.A. is confident that they can go the distance in 2013 and bring home the championship.

Mexico on the other hand, will fight to remain alive in the round robin of the tournament.
