Michael Jackson was one of the biggest stars in the world and now his daughter is getting a taste of the entertainment game, as she was offered a job as a cheerleader with the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the NY Post, Jackson, who is a high-school cheerleader in Los Angeles, was offered a job by Eagles cheer director Barbara Zaun, although she may have to wait some time before actually joining. The report says that there is a minimum age of 18 for NFL cheerleaders, while Jackson is just 14-years-old.
"We think Paris will make a great Eagle cheerleader," said Zaun to TMZ.com.
Jackson is currently in prep school and has been cheering with the main squad for basketball games at Buckley School in Los Angeles. She has dealt with being in the spotlight from a young age, as her father was one of the biggest stars of all-time.
"She is already very comfortable with the limelight," she said. "So we think she would definitely stand out and impress the judges...We hope that she will try out for the team and be an Eagles cheerleader!"
The offer was put on the table for when she is ready and as there is not a team in Los Angeles in the NFL yet, the Eagles are her next option. The move was derided by some as a publicity stunt, but Zaun said that Jackson has the credentials to make it.
"We thought that she had a lot of poise, confidence and enthusiasm in her cheer performance," she added. "Paris has that 'wow factor' that makes a great cheerleader."
