Is anybody nervous yet? No? Okay, good. No. 9 Cincinnati meets No. 1 Georgetown in the first quarterfinals game of the Big East tournament in Madison Square Garden. The action tips off at 12 p.m. ET and we have a live stream available for those who can't watch the game on a television.
Cincinnati is coming off a victory against No. 9 Providence. They won in a non-dramatic 61-44 game that saw Jaquon Parker drive the team to victory after dropping 15 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing three assists and getting a steal. The double-double was enough to take the team to victory as his fellow guard, Sean Kilpatrick had the game-high in scoring with 17 points.
Cincinnati's bench also gave a brilliant effort scoring 13 points with 16 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Rebounding is a big part of the Bearcat's game as they ranked fifth in the nation averaging just over 40 rebounds a game. This could help them stop a Georgetown team that is well rested and ready to get some action in the tournament.
Georgetown, who is No. 1 in the Big East rankings, closed out the season winning 12 of 13 games. They aren't extremely dominant in any specific category, but they came in 46th in assists (about 15 per game) and 51st in field goal percentage making 46 percent of their shots.
The last time these two teams met, Feb. 15, Georgetown escaped Cincinnati with a 62-55 victory over the Bearcats. Look for Georgetown to get a dominant performance from Otto Porter Jr. who is their leading scorer and rebounder averaging 16 points and seven rebounds per game.
