As the NBA season continues to come to a close, the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets are the hottest teams in the league prompting a problem for opponents trying to make a playoff run. Check out where they stand, their schedule and teams currently making the final weeks of the NBA season pretty interesting.
It's a scary reality: the Heat are on a roll a month before the NBA playoffs. If they lose, it still seems like it'll be bad news because LeBron James and the gang will have motivation to win once again. Coach Erik Spoelstra will eventually face the fact that his players might need some rest. This might lead controversy since a coach would hate to break up the chemistry of a winning team.
However, that's something the Heat haven' been worrying about. All they do is win right now. They defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 107-94 and have been knocking down opponents since losing to the Indiana Pacers on Feb.1.
They aren't the only team knocking down the competitors. The Nuggets have been on a roll for the past three weeks. Following a loss to the Washington Wizards, the Nuggets have been working on a 10-game winning streak. The loss to the Wizards must have invigorated their souls as they have crushed their opponents since then.
The Nuggets are now on the verge of capturing the third seed. They are half a game behind the Memphis Grizzlies, who they just defeated, and the Los Angeles Clippers. There's still plenty of time for he Nuggets to continue causing damage in the Western Conference standings.
Future Opponents
Is there anybody who can knock down these giants as the season comes to a stretch? Check out their next five opponents.
The Nuggets face see the Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings and New Olreans Hornets.
Their streak might end against the Thunder, but the last time these guys met, the Nuggets dominated OKC winning two of their three meetings this season.
For the Heat, they face the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Bobcats. The Celtics are the only team that look capable of putting this run to the stop.
As far as the playoff race. Look at the current NBA standings as of Saturday, Mar. 16.
