New York City held a giant ticker-tape parade to celebrate the Super Bowl XLVI champions New York Giants. Nearly one million people packed the streets of New York City in a blizzard of confetti as champions chauffeured through the streets with Eli Manning clutching the Vince Lombardi trophy on a convey of open-air trucks.
The Giants players, coaches and owners were showered with confetti and shredded paper from the offices of skyscrapers white the streets were lined with a sea of blue. The fans filled up the Canyon of Heroes for the parade to welcome the champs.
The 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots was the second win in four years for the New York Giants. The head coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Super Bowl received the biggest cheers.
At the City Hall, the Giants players were presented with the keys to the city. They headed to their stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for another reception.
