Mar 17, 2013 03:01 PM EDT

The 2013 World Baseball Classic has reached it's semifinals as there are only four teams remaining in the tournament. Puerto Rico tries to avoid another loss as they take on Japan in the first semifinal matchup which will take place in San Francisco Giants' AT&T Park.

Time: Catch the live action at 9 p.m. ET

Where to Watch: MLB Network, JSports, TBS (Japan), TV Asahi, JOLF, Telemundo, Telemundo 2, ESPN Deportes

Puerto Rico is coming off a 2-0 loss versus the Dominican Republic on Saturday. It was a great great, but the Puerto Ricans just couldn't get their offense started despite having a couple of opportunities throughout the game. Credit has to be given to the Dominican pitching squad for shutting out the Puerto Ricans.

Japan hasn't seen action since early last week when they won Pool 1 against the Netherlands. They are the defending champions and will look to make it three straight World Baseball Classic championships.

On the mound today for Puerto Rico will be Mario Santiago who had a rough outing against the USA in their first Pool 2 game in the second round. Santiago gave up three earned runs in 4.1 innings pitched. The Puerto Ricans hope Santiago could give them a stronger outing as he faces a Japanese hurler who has been unhittable.

Kenta Maeda hasn't pitched since last Sunday, but Japan hopes this won't affect his groove as Maeda was absolutely dominant against the Netherlands going five innings allowing just one single and striking out nine batters. Puerto Rico will have to come out swinging, but will have to be smart before they set a record for most strikeouts in a WBC game.

Don't miss the action as the winner will go to the World Baseball Classic championship.
