Tim Tebow Rumors: New York Jets Talk Trade and Darrelle Revis At NFL Meetings, Deal To Oakland Raiders or Arizona Cardinals Coming?

The New York Jets are in an interesting situation with two of their most high-profile players, as both Tim Tebow and Darrelle Revis have been the focus of trade rumors throughout the offseason, with the team playing both sides of the fence on each topic.

The Jets have said they are willing to trade Revis if the compensation is right and the team also was known to have been shopping Tebow around at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, although no team has bitten down on the interest yet. According to NFL.com, the Jets and head coach Rex Ryan spoke about both players on Monday at the NFL Annual Meeting out in Phoenix Arizona, saying that quarterback was on the team "for now".

Head coach Rex Ryan was asked about Tebow by reporters at the meetings and whether he would have a chance to start next season. Ryan was coy about the entire situation, saying that Tebow is with the team "for now" and is part of the quarterback depth chart "for now".

Tebow is in a crowded roster at the position, with starter Mark Sanchez as well as Greg McElroy, Matt Simms and the newly signed David Garrard. The team brought in the former Jacksonville starter to push Sanchez, but there is a chance he could be the backup instead of Tebow. The Jets have also shown interest in Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb, who was cut by Arizona last week.

The team may have been interested in bringing in Ryan Fitzpatrick, but he signed with the Titans soon after being released by the Buffalo Bills. Kolb originally signed a six-year, $63.5 million contract after being traded to the Cardinals, but last season he was awful, combining with John Skelton and Ryan Lindley to have one of the worst offenses in the league.

Some reports say that Kolb could be the starter if he signs with the Jets and he has gone 9-12 in that role in his career so far. He has thrown for 28 touchdowns and 25 interceptions and could be the reason Tebow gets traded if the Jets sign him, as it would be yet another quarterback added to the roster.

The Jets seemingly have no idea what to do with Tebow and they barely used him last season, putting him on the field fort about 73 plays. Tebow gained 102 yards rushing and 39 yards passing and completed six of his eight pass attempts, but scored zero touchdowns. While with the Broncos he took charge of the team and led them to the playoffs, where they beat the Steelers in the first round.

Ryan also spoke about Revis and while he didn't give any specifics, reports came out that the Buccaneers would be willing to part with their first round pick in a deal for the cornerback. The Jets can't use the franchise tag on him and Woody Johnson has been unwilling to pay him as the highest-paid defensive player in football, which Revis reportedly wants.

The cornerback is still recovering from knee surgery and he said that he expects that Revis will be with the Jets in 2013. Even if he is, the Jets could trade him once he proves that he is still healthy and back to form. Tebow could be dealt to a number of teams with quarterback issues or questions, including the Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills or Arizona Cardinals.
