Detroit Red Wings tied NHL record with the 20th home win on Sunday night when it defeated Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 at Joe Louis Arena.
"It felt like it was a little bit of a special game," said Johan Franzen whose third period goal led the Wings to tie the league mark set by the Boston Bruins during the 1929-30 season and equaled by Philadelphia Flyers in 1975-76.
Lidstrom marked his 1,550th game with Red Wings on Sunday. After Gordie Howe, who played 1,687 games, he remains the No. 2 but out of NHL players who spent their entire career with one team, Lidstrom comes first.
"We've had some great teams here over the years," Lidstrom said. "But we haven't been close to this record, so we should be proud of it."
Red Wings already has the record of winning 12 consecutive games in 2005-06.
Detroit can break another record with a win over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.
