Steve Nash, veteran guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, was spotted at a Los Angeles bar mitzvah last weekend, despite not being Jewish.
According to TMZ, the bar mitzvah was for 13-year-old Michael Feinberg, the son of billionaire Jeffrey Fienberg, former Soros Fund Management executive.
Feinberg branched out from Soros in 1999 and started his JLF Asset Management firm, and well enough to have a shot at purchasing the Brooklyn Nets in 2009.
Feinberg's wife, Stacey, is the daughter of famed late sports agent Bob Woolf, who represented Celtics' legends Larry Bird and John Havlicek.
In case you were wondering how Nash exactly ended up at the party, wonder no more.
There's no particular reason why Nash attended, just that Fienberg is a huge basketball fan. And being that he has billions at his disposal, his connections are seemingly endless.
Nash and the Lakers are in the mindst of making a playoff push as the team is now 36-33 and are two game ahead of the Utah Jazz for the eighth seed in the Western Conference playoff picture. As of now, the Lakers are projected to meet the San Antonio Spurs in the playoffs. At 52-16 the Spurs boast the second-best record in the NBA.
Nash has averaged 14.4 points and 8.5 assists per game during his illustrious career, but this year those numbers are down to 12.7 points and 6.8 assists.
