As the 2013 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament tipped off, everybody wonders about possible upsets in the tournament. There are a couple of teams that might give there opponents trouble as the tournament is in the second round. It's difficult to gauge team's performances, but check out these possible upsets that could take place Thursday night.
Delmont (11) Beats Arizona (6)?
Okay, so Wildcat fans are probably not to happy about this, but if they're completely confident about their team then there should be nothing to worry about.
Belmont is simply on fire and hard to root against when you're filling out your bracket. They have won six consecutive games and they are an offensive powerhouse. They shoot close to 50 percent from the floor and average a little over 77 points per game.
Compare that to Arizona's 3-3 record in their last six games and 73 points per game, while allowing 64 points per game and Belmont's chances don't look so terrible. Belmont's opponents are only averaging 63 points per game. Belmont could present Arizona with a tough matchup and possibly elimination from the tournament.
This game tips off at 7:20 p.m. ET.
Davidson (14) Over Marquette (3)?
There was another 14 seed that looked decent over in the Midwest region, but Valparaiso is getting theirs handed to them by the Michigan St. Spartans. However, Davidson could be the team to get the job done since they are simply on a Miami Heat-like run in recent months. They are winners of 17th straight and have the hot hand entering this game.
That's pretty much why they're favorited in this matchup, even though a 14 seed isn't too convincing.
This game will be played at 3:10 p.m. ET
Bucknell (11) Upset Butler (6)?
Here's another close 11-6 matchup. Bucknell comes with the hot hand into this matchup. They are winners of seven straight games carrying better momentum into this game. Butler, are 4-3 in their last seven games.
It will be interesting to see how these guys faceoff. Again, all of these upset predictions are based on analysis on paper. It will be interesting to see the outcomes once the games tip off.
This game is currently taking place and the first half is about to wrap up with Butler up 19-15.
