The NCAA Tournament kicked off on Thursday meaning everybody had to update their brackets. Check out the picture up top if you still haven't done so. The first full session of the tournament's second round featured drama, upsets and blow outs. Here are the results in case you can't really study the bracket.
Michigan State Spartans defeated Valparaiso Crusaders 65-54. They will face Memphis after the Tigers clawed out a victory against Saint Mary's, 54-52. These teams will meet in the Midwest third round.
Also in action in the Midwest region, Louisville defeated N.C. State 79-48 in a game that was practically never close. They will face Colorado State after the Rams defeated Missouri 84-72. Colorado State and No. 1 Louisville will face off in third round.
Oregon defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys 68-55. The Ducks will face St. Louis who crushed New Mexico State 64-44.
Probably the biggest upset of them all was Harvard beating New Mexico Lobos 68-62 eliminating the West's No. 3 seed from contention. As a reward, Harvard will face the Arizona Wildcats who defeated Belmont in a non-dramatic meeting that finished 81-64.
The only other teams currently in the third round from the West region are Gonzaga and Wichita St. Gonzaga defeated Southern University 64-58 while Wichita St. defeated Pittsburgh 73-55.
Over in the East, Syracuse put down any chances of an upset as they crushed Montana 81-34. They will face the California Golden Bears after they barely got past UNLV, 64-61 finishing off the upset.
Butler and Marquette will face off in the third round despite facing tough teams. Marquete escaped with a victory against Davidson as it went down to the wire. They won 59-58 in the closing seconds. As for Butler, they defeated Bucknell 68-56.
The last teams to advance and meeting in the third round are VCU and MIchigan. VCU completed demolished Akron 88-42. Michigan defeated South Dakota 71-56.
