First, we study the top dogs of this East Region, Indiana. They have a hold of the No. 1 seed after going 27-6 in the season. Like many top teams in the nation, Indiana struggled at the end of the season. Overall though, they are No. 1 for a reason and their stats back their placement in the East bracket.
Indiana scores the third most points in NCAA Basketball averaging 80 points per game. They accomplish this by shooting almost 49 percent from the floor and control the glass game averaging almost 39 rebounds per game.
Though they closed out the season 2-2 and then lost in the Big 10 Championship Tournament, Indiana is still a favorite to walk out of the East and into the Final Four.
Their opponent, James Madison shouldn't present a challenge for Indiana. However, they have won their last five games to put themselves in a position to enter the tournament, which is always an accomplishment. They finished the season 21-14 and average around 65 points per game, almost 33 rebounds, close to 12 assists and shoot 42 percent from the floor.
All in all, Indiana should easily walk away with a victory in this game, but they better come out to play because James Madison will not simply fold over.
